Should Men Be Teaching Women About Femininity?

We've all been there.

Sitting awkwardly on an examination table wearing only a paper hospital gown, feeling vulnerable as hell, in front of a male gynecologist who is writing down your symptoms.

Then he puts down his clipboard and tells you that you look "normal." Pop an Advil, he says; it's just menstrual cramps, nothing to worry about.

Yeah, okay.

This is exactly the vibe I have been feeling whenever I come across male coaches shelling out advice on femininity. Their advice might be well-meaning, but here's the thing: it is usually practical and strategic, focusing on what we should "do" and this. Doesn't. Work.

Why?

Because its masculine in its approach- which puts you in your head.

And because you and I are inherently feminine

The only "work" here is learning more about the being-ness of what we are, so that we can truly embody what this means.

Most women I meet who desperately want steps and tools, and strategies to be feminine have trauma that needs to be processed through the body first.

And THIS is what’s missing in the conversation.

If you are finding yourself more in your masculine energy, it is for a legitimate reason. It’s probably because you are stressed, overwhelmed, dealing with trauma or in survival mode. There is NOTHING wrong with you as a woman, and no “guide to be feminine” is going to help you LIVE and embody your femininity until you work through those stressors.

This is where I come in. I am here to remind you that you are inherently beautiful, perfect and divinely made. And that all you might need is a bit of support understanding how to express your voice, your truth and your authentic expression of who you truly are.
